West Jordan Relay - BECAUSE CANCER NEVER SLEEPS...
Form a team of 8-15 people to collect donations for the American Cancer Society, culminating in the annual Relay For Life event on the night of June 13-14, 2008. Teams will camp out at West Jordan Veterans Memorial Park and take turns walking around the track through the night...because cancer never sleeps. Throughout the night we will have games, prizes, entertainment and a special luminaria ceremony.

A little background on another special reason to participate this year...
On February 17, 2006, Amy Greetham was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma at the young age of twenty. The original tumor in her stomach and liver was the circumference of a basketball. Through months of chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery, Amy never gave up. Even when she was physically ill from her treatments, Amy helped lead the fight against cancer in the West Jordan Relay for Life. Her team alone raised a total of $12,000 dollars in 2006 & 2007. Her enthusiasm and spirit earned her the position of chairperson for the 2008 Relay for Life. Sadly, after a hard-fought battle with cancer, Amy passed away on October 8, 2007. In honor of Amy, family and friends are more determined than ever to raise funds to help find a cure for cancer.

Salt Lake Relay - FIGHT CANCER:
Relay for Life is an all night team relay where teams of friends, families, or co-workers join together and raise money, then camp out overnight and enjoy fun entertainment as they take turns walking or running around a track. We relay all night because while Cancer never sleeps, neither does our fight to stop Cancer! The money raised goes to support cancer research here in Utah, fund support programs for cancer patients and their families, and fund legislative programs to make a difference for cancer patients in Utah.

So, start a team, donate, or come to the Relay on June 6th-7th from 6pm-10am. If you can only come for part of the night, we’d still love to have you! The Relay will be held at This is the Place Heritage Park.
